I am originally from Yukon, Oklahoma where I earned a B.S. in Psychology from Oklahoma City University and a Masters Degree from the University of Central Oklahoma in Counseling Psychology. After moving to Colorado, I completed a doctoral degree in psychology at the University of Northern Colorado. In Colorado, I met and married my wife Dr. Jane Zazzaro. We moved to Charleston, South Carolina in 1996 and began working at The Citadel Military College of SC. We began working privately in 1998. I was a Professor of Psychology at The Citadel from 1996 to 2023. I am currently Professor Emeritus in Psychology at the Citadel.
After exiting teaching, I began working full-time as a Psychologist. My office is located at 16 Fulton Street, which is three blocks from the College of Charleston. With nearly three decades of experience as a college professor, I relate well to the challenges of college life.
I specialize in the treatment of anxiety and depression using cognitive-based interventions. I also provide marital counseling to individuals and couples experiencing marital distress, as well as premarital counseling to couples to help them prevent problems before they occur.
